they usually don't echo, however sometimes the soundscripts of one map seem to carry over a few settings to the next map, so playing pillage and then snowlake could cause such effects

Why do you need cheats on to use stopsound? I played some small map with 2-4 people and it was kinda stupid to hear two victory fanfares at the same time because the rounds were so short. Also sometimes I've had an ambient sound (fire) playing loudly until a full capture/map change when I'm not even close to the source.

Imo the best thing in this version is the new melee system, the most annoying is thing is the lack of animations.

Anyways nice progress with the mod smile.gif

Hey all, thx for the new bg version, but i have a small question.

Isnt "bg_freemans_farm" the map by Bleibringer? Link: http://forums.bgmod.com//index.php?showtopic=1296
Why u use his mapname without asking him? Sorry but this is not the best way...
Also Blei´s map looks much better. OK its your mod and u can decide.

And to the other side, thx for keeping my map (mvalley) and model/textures in your mod, but a small credit would be very nice!

Thank you! smile.gif

The spelling of the names probably should be different to avoid confusion, but otherwise, I don't see a problem. There's both an official and a 3rd party map portraying the same battle, which they are both named after.

Yer, this new version of bg2 is awesome. I've heard almost only positive feedback, like on the contrary when 1.0b was released, ppl just got pissed off and complained about bad hit reg. So far, only one gow player, has complained about hit reg, and the reason I think is that he has got used too much in bg1's hitboxes.

So simply, the melee update is the best thing in this patch. Most of voices are ok too, perhaps you could get bored of those in time, but let's see.

I hardly also thought before that there would be any competitive playing in bg2. But tho 1.1b changes that opinion of mine. For example we had really nice war against trr, which we lost in fact hah, and we're gonna most like play a revange match today. So I encourage ppl to form new clans and perhaps in future there will be a competive bg2 league.

Mhm the thing which I disliked most in 1.1b are the guns' switching sounds for officer and commander. It's very annoying to hear that voice when some guy changes his weapon all the time.

Anyway, good work development team, I just like to look forward and see that the progress goes as well in future !

If you don't like the sound, you can always use a null sound and rename it as that sound that you dislike, and you won't hear any sound at all. Glad you like the newest version smile.gif

The Battle Grounds 2 Windows installer v1.1b is also mirrored at GameBorder:

If you want to add it to the mirror list, please use the above link. Direct linking the files doesn't work.

Hi All

First I'm french so sorry for my bad english ^^

This night, i had installed my first BG2 game server on a Linux Gentoo release server (never installed 1.0b before)
Other games work fine on it, especially DOS:S
The problem is that i've installed 1.1B package and when i run it, it show me "HL2 - Battle Grounds 2 1.0b" and i can't connect with client 1.1b
"server_i486.so" seems to contain some words with "1.0b", is it normal ?
All running servers 1.1b that i've sawn were running on windows

On HLSW >>
92 gamedir "bg2" >ok
93 gamename "Battle Grounds 2 1.0b" >not ok
220 steamid "220" > not ok

gameinfo.txt seems to be not loaded
I thought to a bug...
So, is anyone has an idea ?
