Right- if you want to play online in the regular servers download .17 in the downloads area of this site. 18 svn is a beta test version for evaluation. Most gaming is in 17, as that is the current official public release. 18 is just a test version of the next release.

Large. My own bg2-svn folder currently weighs in at about 1.8 GB.

Actually, subversion keeps a local cache of the latest version of each file, so the download is more like 900 MB due to duplication.

You are correct, assuming any overhead from the subversion protocol isn't too large. However, I'm guessing you're looking for the newest release (1.1b) in which case you should look here.

X86 as in... i286 - pretty much any modern PC CPU. LAWL maybe the program is just buggy, sit tight. I have compressed all of the files from Revision 1196 (Current bg2-svn version) and I'm uploading them to a web server so people can download it directly and extract it rather than wait for SVN. This will help reduce the stress on the SVN server and at least people won't have the hassle of SVN clients.

I'll post a link when it's ready, might be two hours or so from now.

http://angryplayers.branzone.com/hp/bg2-svn1198.zip

This is the compressed version of the bg2-svn folder at its current revision ( 1196, October 3rd 2008 ).
Simple README should be included, in a nutshell just put it into the sourcemods folder and you're all set if you've got Source SDK Base - Orangebox installed in STEAM under tools.

I get the message REPORT of '/game/!svn/vcc/default': 200 OK (http://svn.bgmod.com) and it says "the operation failed". Which method should I use to get the newest version? I have Tortoise SVN.
