Hey, I'm not that light!

I did notice there was a test going on, but I was busy with school work and helping mom sort some stuff out over the phone.

I'll change the schedule to a more general form..

edit:
Ah, someone already did. But they missed a spot. Fixed.

Good test today- this latest version plays nicely. Some stuff left to fix/add but it's well on its way.

Just quick note, server has a new IP: 85.116.29.131:27020 this IP should have an improved ping too.

I'm also making available two different commutation servers:

TeamSpeak: voice.ukgamer.com: 10780 Password: fatty
Ventnilo: voice403.hurricanehost.com:4068 no password

I will be on the server tonight but not until 21:00 (UK time)

Have fun.

Just played with a 4 on 4 for a while. VERY fun, but. I think either the hitboxes are messed up or melee. Cause i have run up behind and hit someone in the center of their back multiple times. Nothing, then they turn around and pointblank me in the face.... Nonetheless I like it WAY better than .17.

Some of us from +]3D[+, [LINE] and |NxR| are planning on taking .18 for a spin Saturday 10/14 around 6pm PST (-8 GMT).

The more the merrier.

Stabbing peiple from behind is still weird, but otherwise melee is quite reliable... hitboxes seem somewhat off, though, but that's probably just prediction, and nothing can be done about that.

Maybe on Saturday night- depends on how laggy it is. I've had problems with the test server when it fills up some as my ping gets up near 200 on bad nights. 130 is about average for me so far on it.

Yeah testing would be alot better and tons more fun if people were on, most of the time the single server just says zero..

Yes, gg. It's a shame it was just us three since that was my first time playing the .18 beta and I really enjoyed the differences. Like I told you in game there were 5 or so guys on our .17 server and vent channel who meant to get it installed but didn't...sigh. Sorry I disappeared so quickly but my comp froze and when I got rebooted you guys were gone.

Eh no worries- most clanners weren't terribly reliable even back when I ran one. Just have to find the small core who will d/l and we'll have another go in the US time zones.

Seriously I enjoy SVN waayyy more that .17, it be better if someonen was on. Even just a 2 vs. 2 would be fun. But I would like a 7 on 7 like one time.

It's not there yet to be fun, and I'd like you to keep that in mind while testing... if all you're interested in is playing nicely and having some fun during the betatests, there's a good chance that potentially game-breaking issues will be overlooked.

Personally, I'd want a 5v5 or 6v6, played under match conditions by capable players who are familiar with the game and the maps being played, to properly test balance, and to get some good gameplay footage.

As it is right now, even when we have a 3v3 or 4v4 going, people seem pre-occupied with discussing things, marvelling at maps, getting lost in maps, ignoring the flags going for kills or just generally unable to play well, and that makes it very hard to judge how well-balanced the game in general, and the map being played in particular, are.

It's a beta test server, so it generally will not be as frequented as an open .17 server. Testing has priority over playing around. It's almost unusable from North America because of the ping. I can't tell whether it's a bug or a ping problem some times.

Yea I have to admit that I haven't been aware of every map in bg2. But lately i've studied most of those by myself in listen server. So I'm avaible for those 5on5 6on6 matches. I think that we should agree the teams before the betatesting and perhaps make a pw for server that teams won't be unadvantaged. The suitable day could be saturday then..?

About that ping problem.. I haven't played too much bg2 in american servers, but if it's same than in 1.0f, I'm quite sure that's not a issue :)

I'm not available this saturday for testing, but saturday evening/night seems to be the best time, unless all the Euros have to go drink and party... wink.gif

Is there a specific place/person we should send .18 feedback to? A quick search pf ".18 beta" only returns a couple threads and I do not see one with this type of info, but I would hate to drudge up old news (jackx scares me a little cry.gif ).
