thanks for bringing the ambush errors to my attention, I totally forgot top clip the cliffs so players arent able to get up there. It will be fixed in 0.15

One error which has happened to me, i'm not sure if it's been discussed before but i'll just post it. Sometimes when i shoot or stab someone there isn't a corpse, they just disappear.

seems to happen if you kill them as the next wave respawns, very rare.

There should be more rounds per weapon - 13 is too low. Can we move it up to at least 15? People are already saying melee is too dominant - what else are you supposed to do when you run out of ammunition?

Maybe make it so you can pickup extra ammo from dead players?

I was thinking this also, maybe ammo crates at certain points?

But how often do you actually run out of ammo before engaging into melee comabt? Whether it be due to enemies rushing you, or you them.

actually on cliffhanger, when running up the hills sometimes i get show about 30 feet into the air, and then about 20 back and land... and by shot i mean i just take off i dont get hit or anything. it happens mostly at the bottem hill leading up the rocky part of the cliff, shoots me back to the tree every once in awhile and i go above it and lnd behind it.

and in ambush, i think u should jsut make the tops accesable lol, it would make a mutli leveled battle zone in which 2 teams on each team would have to work together to hold teh flags.

Just noticed this topic about bullets and thought it might be correct for me to post some calculations have (all thanks to Forlorn Hope who dug them up about a year ago) on actual bullet velocities which are relevant to BG.

Brown Bess 0.75 = 381 m/s

The Charlesville, being an ever so slightly smaller calibre would have travelled faster, but I doubt if it would have exceeded 390 m/s.

Also,

6 Pounder Cannon = 213 m/s

The larger projectile (6 pounds in weight to be exact) travels at a slower pace towards its target but packs a much more devastating punch.

We made a hell of a lot of calculations on speed, mass and ballistic coefficient, so I think they are pretty well up to date on the numbers. We also calculated accuracy. I don't know how many of those numbers actually made it into the code though.

Yep, I was there when many of the calculations were done, and I was very impressed, it was very professional, but I just thought that the non-team members might want an insight into the actual speed of bullets in regards to the title of this thread.

BG2 0.14 crashes on startup for me. perhaps one of the latest steam updates has screwed it up a bit. any news on a fix? i used to play the hl1 version and quite enjoyed it, i look forward to your tender.

What's with getting pushed huge distances when you survive a shot? Getting hit with a bullet should not move someone 30 feet if at all.

There was a discussion about that somewhere. Either way, the Mythbusters already proved that you're not sent flying when hit by a bullet, whether it be shotgun slugs or .50BMG.

That was a bug anyway. It should be fixed now. It's similar to how in earlier versions of HL2 the metropolice could send you flying if they hit you with the stunstick while you were in mid-air.
