As we did not have the opportunity to get feedback on the new official map hubbardton during the beta tests, I am requesting the original creator and community members to review the map using the SVN beta client and post there opinions here. The map will be included as official map and is cycled in the mapcycle.

I think that the wall up on the US hill could have small holes because if you play for US you have to jump over that wall.

I like this map, I think it'd be great for all these 64-slot servers that have been springing up. Hell, one could even remove the flags and use it somewhat decently for line battles.

My only two issues with the map are
a. That the skybox for the map doesn't seem to blend well with the skybox, thus making it look like the map's a floating chunk of land.
b. The wall just feels weird. I get stuck on it constantly on American side.

I got stuck on the wall before as well, I still left it unchanged for the moment. I think it could be helped with a few small playerclip brushes along the wall.

Holes so you can jump over the wall is a nice suggestion. I think the same effect could also be achieved by raising the terrain on the american side slightly at a few places or by again using small player clip brushes. I will look into adding spots in the wall where you can cross the wall without jumping and I think they should be clearly identifyable from a medium distance.

Do you think that you should be able to get over from the british side without a jump as well?

I'm inclined to not change anything about the way the skybox works - the map area is made from geographical data from the actual battle site, anything beyond would be fantasy terrain or someone would have to look for material covering the area around.

There was a big stone grave site at one time in the map, it probably should be removed.

I don't think so. I've played a version of this map on 1.2.1b and the British didn't seem to have too hard of an issue skimming around the wall and pouring into the middle flag. Americans should have the ability to quickly run over that wall so they can intercept easier. It is a defense map after all.

Well you could just add a sloop facing displasment next to the wall on the american side. That way the brits would have to jump and the americans just run over it.

PS could you add more trees ?

Most of the walls are walkable for the americans in the current working version already.
I won't add any trees because the map really is at the limit with performance on low end computers, I have actually even removed trees and other objects from the map. (I don't know about the small grave NH mentioned however, I think I did forget that.)
