I will tell you what I think, this is horrible. Like all the other remakes of BG1 maps. There is a reason why we do not do that in any form. Do not bother to remake old bg1 maps. BG1 was a totally different game as draco pointed out and the maps are not going to work out on BG2.

Why does walking around in this map remind me of de_westwood?

No troll intended, old-timer, just saying that the layout seems to remind me of it.

I didn't know death could map.

It's an ok map, except that the lighting doesn't fit the skybox at all. (Lighting = white & the sun is high in the sky, skybox = dusk)

The boys at valve are nice enough to post the default lighting color and sun pitch which is useful for getting the lighting looking good with minimal effort.

--------------------

The essential act of war is destruction, not necessarily of human lives, but of the products of human labor. War is a way of shattering to pieces, or pouring into the stratosphere, or sinking in the depths of the sea, materials which might otherwise be used to make the masses too comfortable, and hence, in the long run, too intelligent. And at the same time the consciousness of being at war, and therefore in danger, makes the handing-over of all power to a small caste seem the natural, unavoidable condition of survival. -George Orwell

had a little run through the map, noticed a couple things that could be improved, first thing is the lighting, in certain areas of the map it's way too dark, and i find the lighting a little too green. the texture alignments on some of the buildings are off, noticed in the entrance for the cemetery, you can see outside the map, due to a bad overlap of the displacements.

asides that, not bad death, you've finally learned to map :-)

no, not for now anyway, I'll probably work again on a map i started making that had historical background and close to where i live, Fort Lennox on Richelieu. it was holden by Britain on the 25 of October 1760, then the Americans took it over in 1775 to use it as a strategic point to take over Montreal, but the British pushed them back, and took back the fort in 1779.

if i work on it i'll post historical pictures and progress.
