Gameplay: Skirmish/Line Battle/"Realism" Members: 4 Recruiting: Yes. Founded: July 4th, 2011 Leader: Cdr. Churl Website: None yet. The Spirit of '76 is my new brain-child and an attempt to inject some life into the North American community. The idea is to have a mature, loosely-structured team of well-trained individuals who are willing to take part in any type of battle. I've joined '76 as well (I didn't even have to change my old sig). We're fast approaching the 10th anniversary of the original release of BG for the HL1 engine this fall. At the same time, the community has been in somewhat of a decline in terms of player numbers for awhile now, and organized play in NA has fallen through in terms of league support. One of Churl's main goals is to try to revive interest in BG and to try to bring in new people, and bring back old. The team also is going to attempt to bring in both skirmish and LB players, whoever will have interest in the game. I like the idea of trying to bridge the gap between LB and skirmish players. The community is too small to continue to have wars between LB and skirmish people. So I support what Churl is doing and have joined to help him with the community building mission of '76.
